Habe den SONOFF Orb-ZBW1L Zigbee 3.0 Smart-Wandschalter kostenlos über Amazone Vine zum Testen erhalten. Bewerte hier dennoch vollkommen sachlich und Objektiv. Vorweg – würde mich als Smarthome Nerd bezeichnen der eine vielzahl an systemen, protokollen und Komponenten verprobt hat – von Standard WIfi, BLE, Thread, Zigbee und co über Amazon Alexa, Apple Home, Home Assistant und co hab ich eigentlich alles relevante durch.- Qualität und Verarbeitung: Top und sonoff typisch. Guter, stabiler Kunststoff mit aus meiner Sicht gutem haptischen Tasterfeedback. Man muss das Layout des Runden Schalters mögen, aber das Design ist aus meiner Sicht ja klar wie auf den Bildern erkennbar und jedem überlassen.- Montage: Hier war ich ausnahmsweise mal positiv überrascht – gut eine kleine Montageanleitung wäre nicht schlecht gewesen (Hätte schon gereicht zu wissen wie man die Blende abbekommt, aber das ist dann doch irgendwie selbsterklärend. Das wäre aber das einzige « manko » aus meiner Sicht. Durch die Montage in standarddosen und durch die Langlöcher lässt sich der Taster hervorragend und überraschend einfach montieren. Alter Schalter und Blende raus – neuen Rein, fertig. Welten besser als die hintermontage mit einem kleinen sonoff ZBmini, da man sich das gefrickel mit den Kabeln spart. Also, da hat die Montage wirklich mal spass gemacht.- Anschluss & Verkabelung: Lin und Lout (Kein Neutralleiter notwendig) – mehr nicht – super einfach und geht auch beim Kreuzanschluss problemlos. Fand ich super und man kann eigentlich nicht viel falsch machen, sofern man weiß was man tut (Sicherung raus, Stromlos schalten, Prüfen, etc.). – Meines Wissens nach sollte man hierfür einen Elektriker holen, wenn man hier nicht 100% weiß was man tut :-)- Verbindung: Habs über MQTT und ZHA getestet – beides wie erwartet. Übliche Werte gegeben (Schalter, Startwerte, LQ und RSSI). Funktioniert robust und zuverlässig auch auf gute Distanz. Einziges Manko ist, da der Sonoff Mini verbaut ist, funktioniert der Schalter nicht als Repeater sondern nur als Endgerät. D.h. zur Vergrößerung des Netzwerkes nicht wirklich gut geeignet. Das ist schade, da er ja permanent am Strom hängt und damit auch diese funktion übernehmen könnte. Da es in der Produktbeschreibung erklärt ist hierfür aber kein Punktabzug.- Preis Leistung: Für knapp unter 20 Euro finde ich das Ding sehr fair, da man ja die gesamte Schaltkulisse dazu bekommt und dass dann alles smart hat – Gerade wenn man renoviert ein toller Ansatz. Einziges Manko das ich noch finden konnte ist, dass ich nicht wüsste wie ich eine Schalterreihe (Also bspw. bei drei schaltern neben oder übereinander) gut damit austauschen könnte da ich keinen umlaufenden rahmen für 3 Schalter finden konnte, aber gut – notfalls halt drei stück übereinander, wenn die Dosen es zulassen.

You might be wondering what exactly this is. It’s simple: it’s a SONOFF ZBMINIL2, prewired to a single clicker switch, that mounts happily to a standard sized single gang light socket.And if you’re not sure what a ZBMINIL2 is, it’s an ideal switching box that can essentially make any standard light switch into a smart switch controllable via Zigbee (just On-Off, no dimming), so your existing « dumb » bulbs or lighting can become basic « smart » bulbs.It’ll even show as a ZBMINIL2 in whatever Zigbee system you use, because that’s what it is. Take it out of the box, you’ll see the ZBMINIL2 mounted in the back of the switch – but all the wiring to a physical switch is already done for you!As this is a no-neutral solution, it doesn’t act as a Zigbee router, and there’s about 0.5-1 second delay when activating the switch over Zigbee, as is normal with the ZBMINIL2. However when using the physical button, it responds almost instantly.The physical button is single click. For a price of almost a standard ZBMINIL2, this is a great deal. You get it pre-wired to a physical switch, turning your existing dumb lights into smart lights.Now, regarding mounting: You’ll need at least a 25mm backbox for this to fit in. As mine was very slim, I needed a spacer plate. I used a 10cm version, but make sure to get a spacer WITH screw holes on it, and not just a spacer.WARNING: The mounting place is SMALLER than a standard fitting (only with the face place does it match the size). So, if your backbox does NOT have the screws at the surface, but recessed, you WILL need spacers/washers of some form either way – but realistically a spacer plate with screws will be the best way to securely mount it.Why? You might notice this is a screwless design, so the faceplate clips over it. The actual underlying switch is smaller than a spacer, so it will need to rest on the spacers screw holes.You’ll also need some 3.5mm washers/spacers to provide a gap between the spacers screw mount and the base switch plate to give you enough room to clip on the face plate. About 6-8 0.5mm thick, 3.5mm opening diameter washer on each screw will do. Otherwise you won’t be able to clip on the faceplate because the body will be INSIDE the spacer. (If you want to get scammed on washers, buy them on Amazon where marketplace sellers will give you the great deal of 20 tiny pieces of cheap metal for £5).The only downside is IP00 rating – so make sure it’s grounded inside, and it’s probably not ideal for a bathroom switch.

I have a lot of sonoff devices in use throughout the house to enable all of our light switches to integrate smart functions. All of our other lights use standard switches with a device hidden in a box in the house. This integrates the same device into a pre-wired switch. It works when all the main wiring goes to the light and only a switched live goes to the switch, unlike most smart switches.I have a smart hub which i connect everything to and its easy to add devices and the app works well with strong connection over Zigbee. It doesnt have wifi so does need a hub.The downside is that the app wont work if wifi goes down.

I’m generally a big fan of sonoff’s products, but I think they’ve missed the mark on this one. A few small tweaks would have made this model outstanding. The main things I’m not quite happy with are:* The switch has very low travel distance. The bottom edge sticks out quite a bit, and I though it would go far enough in so it is level with the panel… Kind of how rocker switches do, except this one is spring loaded and returns to its original position on its own. In reality, this switch moves like a millimetre and feels mushy. There is a very mild « click » feedback, so it’s not always clear to me whether it « triggered ».* By « no neutral required » they actually mean « can’t use a neutral wire even if there is one » instead of « neutral optional ». This limits the switch’s functionality to a zigbee end device instead of router, thus it doesn’t help strengthen and extend the zigbee network. Also, these no-neutral switches work by passing a small current through the load on the circuit, which can be problematic depending on what the load is. For example, some LED bulbs with a no-neutral switch end up being dimly lit instead of turn off.

Ich habe diesen SONOFF Orb-ZBW1L Zigbee Smart-Wandschalter (1-Gang, ohne Neutralleiter) getestet, da ich eine einfache und saubere Lösung suchte, um meine Beleuchtung in meinem Altbau smart zu machen, ohne einen Neutralleiter in der Schalterdose zu haben.Kernfunktion und Kompatibilität (Altbau-Lösung)Der größte Vorteil dieses Schalters ist die « No Neutral »-Funktionalität. Er ist speziell für ältere elektrische Installationen konzipiert, was die Installation extrem vereinfacht. Lastanforderung: Er funktioniert zuverlässig und ohne Flimmern mit LED-Glühbirnen ab 3W Mindestlast. (Achtung: Er ist nicht kompatibel mit smarten Glühbirnen – er macht die normale Glühbirne smart.) Technik: Im Grunde handelt es sich um ein vorverdrahtetes ZBMINIL2-Modul in einem Schaltergehäuse, was die Installation in der Wand sauber löst.Smart Home Integration Plug & Play: Die Koppelung mit meinem Zigbee-Hub (Home Assistant / Zigbee2MQTT) war sehr einfach und reibungslos. Er wird sofort erkannt und die Steuerung ist stabil. Sprachsteuerung: Die Anbindung an Alexa und Google Assistant funktioniert gut für die freihändige Sprachsteuerung. Verzögerung: Die physikalische Taste reagiert fast augenblicklich. Bei der Schaltung über Zigbee (App/Automation) gibt es die typische, aber akzeptable Verzögerung von etwa 0,5–1 Sekunde, da das Gerät als Endgerät (ohne Neutralleiter) fungiert.Einbau und Mängel Platzbedarf: Obwohl es für den Einbau in die Wand gedacht ist, benötigt die Einheit wegen des eingebauten Relais mindestens eine 25 mm tiefe Schalterdose (eher 35 mm), um die Kabel unterzubringen. Dies wird in der Anleitung oft nicht klar erwähnt. Montage: Die Montageplatte ist kleiner als die Standard-Befestigung (es handelt sich um ein schraubenloses Design, bei dem die Frontplatte aufclipsen muss). Bei sehr flachen Backboxen benötigt man eventuell Abstandshalter/Spacer, um die Frontplatte sauber aufclippen zu können. Sicherheit: Das Gerät ist nur für Innenräume geeignet (IP00-Rating) und die Verwendung im Bad sollte vermieden werden.
